    Background
:  we harvested the wood from dead fall off of this historical Banyan Tree on Banyan Drive in Hilo Hawaii.  It is historically significant because this tree was planted by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, during his presidency, 1934.  FDR was the first sitting president to visit Hawaii.  It has since grown to this massive beauty. Banyan Drive has several other banyan trees planted by movie stars, politicians, notable hawaiians, adventurers and religious leaders.
