    Description

    Lufthansa added Kingston to its South American DC-10 operations during April 1976. This was a weekly
    Lufthansa service and the flights in each direction, between Germany and South America, took place a
    week apart.
    A small boxed cachet, supplied by Lufthansa Airlines, was applied to Kingston covers. Those covers handled
    by the Kingston Post Office did not receive this cachet.
    This cover was carried on the April 2, 1976 inaugural Lufthansa McDonnell Dougas DC-10 flight from
    Kingston, Jamaica to
    New York (where it was backstamped) and is listed in The American Air Mail Catalogue as J-1845.
