ROYAL BAYREUTH ROSE TAPESTRY YELLOW, WHITE PINK ROSES CUP & SAUCER SIGNED
This is a gorgeous piece (cup & saucer set) of early 20
th
century porcelain.
This beautiful and delicate cup and saucer set is signed Royal Bayreuth and was made at their Tettau factory in the Bavaria region of modern day Germany.
It is decorated over both the interior and exterior with what appears to me to be three colors of roses (white, yellow & pink) and has the tapestry finish that Royal Bayreuth is so famous for.
The rose decorations are all transfers.
The rim, handle and feet of the cup and the rim of the saucer are further hand painted and decorated with gold trim.
There are also some hand painted embellishments of gold leaves around the top rim of the cup.

by Mary J. McCaslin on page 86.
The mark on the bottom of both the cup and the saucer are done in blue overglaze and is pictured on page 22 of this same book and identified as mark # 9, which was used after 1902.
This is a very nice example and beautiful as you can see from the photos!

Age and Condition
This set dates to circa 1910.
It is in excellent condition, but it has been repaired.
This set has been part of my personal collection since 1995 and I never realized the repair was there.
It is a super restoration job, but when I checked each piece over carefully with a black-light it showed one of the feet on the cup has been repaired.
The saucer showed no evidence of any repairs.
The only way I spotted this was from the photograph of the base of the cup and noticed a yellowish area around the foot on the lower left.
I still cannot tell that this was repaired even with the aid of a jeweler’s loupe, but the black-light doesn’t lie.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
Other than what I mentioned above, there are no chips, flea bites, cracks or hairlines.
There is some very slight wear to the gold trim that is consistent with the age of the piece.
Otherwise it is in just wonderful original condition.
I will also mention that one of the feet on the cup was never decorated with gold trim from the factory (this is not the foot that has been restored) – see the photo of this.
Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.
Approximate Dimensions
The cup is about 2.5” (6.4 cm) in diameter at the top rim.
The saucer is about 4.75” (12.1 cm) in diameter.
The set sits about 3.75” (9.5 cm) off the table at the tip of the cup handle.
Approximate Weight
About 4.625 ounces (134 grams) for the set.

If you do not send an instant payment through PayPal, I will send you an invoice within 24 hours of the end of the auction.
PayPal is my preferred method for receiving funds and payment is expected within 3 days of the completion of the auction.
I will normally ship within 1-2 business days of receiving payment in my PayPal account.
Shipment will be via the USPS.
I estimate shipping costs at the time of listing and any difference between my estimated cost and actual will be refunded back to you through PayPal after the sale is completed.
On smaller items that weigh 12 ounces or less including the shipping container I will offer you the less expensive First Class option.
On heavier items I will also offer a less expensive option, if available.
A delivery confirmation (provides electronic tracking of the shipment) is included with all domestic shipments paid for through PayPal.
Please take the shipping costs into account when bidding.
If you purchase more than one item I will do my best to combine shipping costs to save you as much as possible.
If you want your package insured, you must let me know in advance of payment.
Your actual shipping costs should be calculated automatically when you enter you zip code into eBay.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
The only form of payment I accept from international buyers is Pay Pal.
No exceptions!
International shipments will encounter longer shipping times due to distance and Customs requirements.
The USPS says 6-10 business days, but it can take longer.
International buyers are responsible for all customs fees, duties, import taxes or other related customs or import charges and all our out of pocket costs incurred in the shipment of packages internationally.
International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.
DO NOT ask us to show a lesser value on the Customs Forms than the item sold for, or to ship the item purchased item as a gift.
