This auction is for a vintage 8 ½' Wright & McGill GS8642 Granger Special 3/2 Bamboo Fly Rod
with Original Tube and Sock
in excellent condition. The 8 ½' bamboo rod has 3 sections with an extra tippet, all sections measure 34 ½", line guides complete and all with tight wraps, rod weight is 4 ½ oz,

engraved on reel seat with Pat Apr. 12. 1938, Pat No. 2.114.107, Made By Wright & McGill Rod Co Denver Colo. and is in great shape.
Note: Another eBay member messaged and stated the rod may have been refinished and guides re-wrapped due to the original thread color should be lime green not the yellowish color as pictured. I’m not an expert on original construction of these early rods so please view pictures and ask questions if you have concerns

There is a slight bit of cork lose just adjacent to reel seat (see Pics) and the tube decal is missing a section on the front (see Pics) with some detail scratched off and has a few small dents.
Nice collectible and a neat one to fish on your favorite stream for trout, bass and/or other freshwater species.
